WATERTOWN, NY (March 4, 2024) – WPBS-TV is delighted to announce that the much-loved and long running family event Ready Set Fun will be returning this year!
Thanks to our generous sponsors – Martin’s Point Health Care and Stewart’s Shops – and the Salmon Run Mall, we are able to bring back this celebration of learning on Saturday, March 23rd. This year’s theme is “Silly Summer Sun!” a celebration of warm weather and summer fun.
For over 20 years, this literacy fair includes many community partner exhibits, PBS Kids Characters, a gently-used book swap (this year hosted by the North Country Library System, where every child can obtain a free book), and presentation of the winners of the annual WPBS Writer’s Contest and much more.
Mark Prasuhn, President & General Manager of WPBS-TV, said that “knowing how much this long-established annual event means to children and families in our area, we are very excited to be bringing it back again this year. Encouraging and inspiring creative imagination and literacy in children is one of our greatest priorities, and we look forward to welcoming our friends to Ready Set Fun!”
Local organizations, businesses, and authors with an educational demonstration or activity to share are encouraged to contact ctyler@wpbstv.org for an application to be part of the event.
Get ready, get set, have fun at the Salmon Run Mall, Saturday, March 23rd from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. As always, admission is free.
