WATERTOWN, NY (August 1, 2023) – What a treat for music fans! WPBS has many new concert specials in August, kicking off on Saturday, August 12th and running through Sunday, August 20th. This month we share the music of Sting, Johnny Cash, Paul Anka, John Williams, Whitney Houston and many others.
Saturday, August 12
John Farnham & Olivia Newton-John: 2 Strong Hearts (8:00 pm) Australia’s much-loved legends performed a variety of their hits in this once-in-a-lifetime concert experience.
Sting: Live at Olympia Paris (9:30 pm) Grab a front-row seat at this 2017 concert celebrating the release of Sting’s 57th & 9th album.
Sunday, August 13
John Denver: Rocky Mountain High (6:00 pm) Filmed in 1974 at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater, the concert features Denver performing in his prime at this stunning outdoor venue.
Broadway’s Brightest Lights (7:30 pm) Grab a front-row seat at a concert featuring some of the greatest show tunes of musical theatre.

Everly Brothers: Harmonies From Heaven (8:30 pm) The story of Phil and Don Everly, two of the most important and influential early rock ‘n’ roll stars of the 1950s and ’60s.
Foreigner: Double Vision (10:00 pm) Grab a front-row seat at the first-ever reunion concert of both incarnations of the multi-platinum-selling band as they perform their greatest hits.

Johnny Cash: Man in Black (7:00 pm) This 1971 concert spotlights the great singer-songwriter and his road company.
Kenny Rogers Live in Concert (8:30 pm) Celebrate the career of the worldwide music icon in a concert at the peak of his popularity in 1983.
Last of the Breed (10:00 pm) Celebrate the greatest hits of Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and Ray Price in this 2007 concert.
Friday, August 18
Bee Gees: One Night Only (7:30 pm) One of the very few Bee Gees performances ever filmed, the group’s 1997 concert at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas showcases many of their greatest disco and pop hits.
Saturday, August 19
Doo Wop Pop Soul Generations (3:30 pm) Celebrate the legacy of the music of the late 1950s and 60s with a new generation of artists.
Paul Anka: His Hits & Tribute to Frank Sinatra (8:00 pm) Grab a front-row seat at this concert taped at the Smith Center in Las Vegas and celebrate the legendary singer-songwriter’s career as he pays tribute to his greatest mentor.
Lynyrd Skynyrd: Celebrating 50 years, Recorded Live at the Ryman Auditorium (9:30 pm) Join the definitive Southern rock band for a 2022 concert at the Ryman Auditorium.
