WATERTOWN, NY (July 24, 2023) – Ciarán McMenamin reprises his role as Inspector Finn O’Hare in the quirky, compelling crime series set in the fictional North Irish town of Port Devine. Hope Street Season 2 picks up six months after the car crash at the end of the first season. Following his brush with death, Finn is a haunted man but in fierce denial that he is anything other than fine; trustworthy Sergeant Marlene Pettigrew (Kerri Quinn) becomes acting Inspector in his stead.
The Port Devine station is joined by a new detective, Al Quinn (Stephen Hagan), who is a laid-back breath of fresh air – that is until his willful daughter turns up and plunges him into a moral and ethical dilemma. Al struggles to juggle his duty as a police officer while protecting his daughter. Meanwhile, underestimated Police Constable Callum McCarthy (Niall Wright) is always watching. Hope Street continues to combine traditional serial narrative storytelling with unique crime stories in each episode, always remaining positive, bighearted and life-affirming.
Ciaran McMenamin who plays Inspector Finn O’Hare says: “It was touch and go for Finn at the end of last season, but I’m glad to say he’ll be back where he belongs with Marlene and Callum, dealing with the unique challenges thrown at them by all your old favorites, along with a motley crew of wonderful new characters.”
The 10-episode season 2 of Hope Street airs on WPBS-TV Mondays at 9:00 pm, starting July 31, 2023 and is available to watch on-demand with WPBS Passport (U.S. only) and the free PBS App.
