WATERTOWN, NY; December 9, 2020 — WPBS-TV, the PBS affiliate serving Northern New York and Eastern Ontario with the finest public media content, announced the kick-off of the WPBS Holiday Auction with online bidding open NOW.
Every year, WPBS auctions off special gift items, baskets, furniture, antiques, certificates and more. Many items are GREAT for holiday gifts. Most items have been donated by local small businesses – many are the unique creations of artists and craftspersons – and are being auctioned off to benefit WPBS and educational public media in our region.
The new version of the online Auction is as easy as a click via computer or mobile phone. To register go to wpbstv.org/auction. All items are now viewable and registration is live. Anyone who is unable to access the online guide or needs assistance bidding, please call 315-782-3142 ext. 301 or ext. 225.
The final stage of the auction, a live broadcast on WPBS and Facebook, will take place this weekend – Saturday December 12th from 8:00 – 10:00 pm; and Sunday December 13th from 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
Since 1958, WPBS has contributed to the quality of life across the region with the finest commercial free children’s programming, trusted news and current affairs, music and performance programs, stories of local interest, lifestyle and health series, and exceptional science and history documentaries. All of this has been made possible through the kind support of many community members.
We are grateful to the many local businesses across our region who support the auction with their generous donations. 2020 has been an extraordinarily challenging year for small businesses, and we strongly encourage everyone to support them at this time.
