WPBS-DT’s Fall for WPBS Member Drive is scheduled from Saturday, September 6th through Sunday, September 14th and boasts specials such as: Jimmy Van Heusen: Swinging with Frank & Bing on Saturday, 9/6 at 5:30 pm and My Music: 50’s & 60’s Rock Rewind at 8:30 pm; Woody’s Children 45th Anniversary Concert on Sunday, 9/7 at 6 pm and Masterpiece Breathless at 9 pm; Daniel O’Donnell: Stand Beside Me on Monday, 9/8 at 9:30 pm; Salute to Vienna on Tuesday, 9/9 at 7:30 pm complete with a ticket offer; Trains Around North America on Wednesday, September 10 at 7:30 pm; Return to Downton Abbey updated for the Season 5 premiere and an opportunity to be one of the first to order Masterpiece Downton Abbey, Season 5, on Thursday, 9/11 at 7:30 pm; Magic Moments: the Best of 50’s Pop on Friday, 9/12 at 9 pm; Inside Foyle’s War on Saturday, 9/13 at 4 pm followed by the rebroadcast of Foyle’s War, Season 7, Episode 1 at 5:30 pm; and, “Being Poirot” will complete the membership drive on Sunday, 9/14 at 5 pm as we ready ourselves for the premiere of Ken Burns: The Roosevelt’s an Intimate History at 8 pm.
KEN BURNS: THE ROOSEVELT’S AN INTIMATE HISTORY continues through Saturday, September 20 from 8 – 10 pm each evening. THE ROOSEVELTS: AN INTIMATE HISTORY chronicles the lives of Theodore, Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt, three members of the most prominent and influential family in American politics. It is the first time in a major documentary television series that their individual stories have been interwoven into a single narrative. This seven-part, fourteen hour film follows the Roosevelts for more than a century, from Theodore’s birth in 1858 to Eleanor’s death in 1962.
