WPBS-TV GEARS UP FOR 23RD ANNUAL READY-SET-FUN! SUNNY DAYS LITERACY FESTIVAL

Watertown, NY – WPBS-TV, Watertown Public Media is proud to present Ready-Set-Fun! Sunny Days Literacy Festival on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 10am to 2pm at the Salmon Run Mall, located at 21182 Salmon Run Mall Loop W, Watertown, NY. Admission is free, but the donation of a non-perishable food item is suggested. Donations will be given to the Feed Our Vets Food Pantry of Watertown.

Ready-Set-Fun! Sunny Days Literacy Festival is a celebration of learning that has been held annually for over 20 years and boasts educational and engaging hands-on activities provided by over 30 community organizations, a gently used book swap, and much more. Regal Cinema is presenting a free showing of Curious George (2006) at 10AM. PBS KIDS Characters Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Peg+Cat will also be in attendance and available for photos. In partnership with the North Country Libraries, families can enjoy a literacy track of author talks, crafts, story time, and a maker’s lab. Each family in attendance will receive a free children’s book. More information can be found at wpbstv.org/readysetfun.

An Award Ceremony honoring the winners of this year’s Writers Contest will be held during the Ready-Set-Fun! Sunny Days Literacy Festival at 1:30pm in front of the former Bon-Ton court. The ceremony will include a video presentation of each winning author’s self-narrated and illustrated entry, as well as a presentation of certificates and prize packs. Videos will be available for viewing on YouTube and aired on WPBS-TV during PBS KIDS programming.
