WPBS Hosts Culinary Climate Connection: From Garden to Table Event on July 30, 2024

WATERTOWN, NY (July 15, 2024) – On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 2 – 4 pm, WPBS is hosting a community climate awareness and sustainability discussion with local guests and culinary treats at Windmill Acres in Watertown, NY. Learn more about PBS’s unprecedented climate programming initiative and its bold commitment to explore environmental impacts on our planet through solutions-driven storytelling. Our robust slate of content is bringing every aspect of a changing climate to life through a diversity of perspectives, focusing on the challenges at hand while highlighting examples of positive impact.

WPBS will be bringing together local resources and experts in our community to share their knowledge about sustainable growing practices, access to local food, and using produce from both of those avenues to create a delicious snack for our attendees. Special guests and panelists include Dani Baker of Cross Island Farms and author of The Home-Scale Forest Garden, Michael Myers from Cornell Cooperative/TasteNY, and Cape Vincent community garden volunteers who will be available to share their experiences and answer questions. Guests will also get a preview of the upcoming WPBS gardening series “Home-Scale Forest Garden” based on Dani Baker’s book.

This event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required. Visit wpbstv.org/events to register.
