WPBS-DT, Watertown public television, just completed the 32nd season of Whiz Quiz with Glenn Gough and is pleased to congratulate the 2011 International Whiz Quiz Champions, the team from Lisgar Collegiate Institute in Ottawa, Ontario.
Lisgar Collegiate, led by their Advisor Ruth Crabtree, was able to defend their 2010 title as International Whiz Quiz Champions. They competed against the 2011 American Whiz Quiz Championship team from Belleville-Henderson Central School.
The 2011 Whiz Quiz competition began with thirty-one American and four Canadian high school teams. There are two separate competition schedules, one American and one Canadian. Both are single-elimination tournaments where the American and Canadian champions are crowned.
Whiz Quiz is produced locally here at WPBS-DT and takes place in October and November. It airs on WPBS-DT October through December. Matches may also be viewed on our website at www.wpbstv.org.
