Hunter Biden, one of President Joe Biden’s sons, is at the center of the impeachment inquiry launched by the Republican-controlled House against the 46th president.
Republicans including House Speaker Kevin McCarthy claim, without evidence, that Biden could have been involved in Hunter Biden’s business dealings and used his political power to help influence his career. Such claims have been refuted by Hunters’ business associates and others.
This House inquiry and impeachment effort is separate from the recent indictment against Hunter Biden on federal firearms charges.
The House impeachment inquiry’s first hearing is expected to begin Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023.
