Ben Ingman, one of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s former student athletes, spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Wednesday.
Ingman said Walz was his geography teacher, as well as his basketball and track coach. Several of Walz’s former football players also walked on stage in red-and-white jerseys as the school fight song played ahead of Walz’s speech accepting the vice presidential nomination.
Wednesday night focused on fighting “for our freedoms,” from democracy to reproductive rights and more.
