Former President Donald Trump said Wednesday that Vice President Kamala Harris has “done a terrible job.”
Trump made the comments at a campaign rally in Charlotte, North Carolina — his first rally since President Joe Biden announced Sunday that he would not stay in the 2024 race and endorsed Harris to take his place atop the Democratic ticket.
“You’ve been terrible at everything you’ve done,” Trump said of Harris. “You’re ultra liberal and we don’t want you here. We don’t want you anywhere. Kamala, you’re fired. Get out of here.”
During his verbal criticism of Harris, Trump also referenced his attempted assassination earlier this month during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
“They say something happened to me when I got shot. I became nice,” the GOP presidential nominee said. “When you’re dealing with these people, they’re very dangerous people. When you’re dealing with them, you can’t be too nice. You really can’t be.”
Harris said earlier this week at a rally in Wisconsin that she would “proudly” put her record up against Trump’s.
