Vice President-elect Kamala Harris arrived at the U.S. Capitol Jan. 20 with her husband, Doug Emhoff, for her inauguration ceremony. The California senator, who was once a Democratic candidate for president herself, will make history as the first woman elected as vice president in U.S. history. She’s also the first Black and South Asian person to hold the role.
