Former president Donald Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, spoke to supporters on Nov. 6 and thanked them for their backing as they declared victory in the 2024 presidential election.
Trump spoke before the AP had declared a winner in the race, though results showed him with 267 electoral votes, three shy of the 270 needed to win.
Trump introduced JD Vance as the vice president-elect, and told the crowd “he turned out to be a good choice.”
“I appreciate you allowing me to join you on this incredible journey,” Vance said, adding “I thank you for the trust that you placed in me. And I think that we just witnessed the greatest political comeback in the history of the United States of America.”
