WATCH: Sen. Roy Blunt says inauguration is ‘not a moment of division’ but of ‘unification’

Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo., spoke at President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration Jan. 20 at the U.S. Capitol. Blunt, who chairs the Senate Rules Committee, said that the freedoms Americans enjoy today did not just happen, but were instead achieved through the “successes and failures of our history.” He said the events of the past few weeks were a reminder that U.S. democracy is both “fragile and resilient,” and that today’s inauguration was “not a moment of division” but of “unification.”
