Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee spoke Monday at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, two days after an assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania.
The suspected shooter, who was killed by law enforcement, killed one person and seriously injured two.
Blackburn criticized the Biden administration for bringing up inflation and taxes.
“Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, their high inflation, high interest, high taxes, and green new scam are destroying small businesses,” Blackburn said. “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris also think that small business owners are wealthy, and they should pay their fair share. We all know that’s the left wing code for you got to pay more taxes.”
During the convention, delegates will adopt a party platform and Trump will formally accept the Republican nomination for president. On Monday, Trump named Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio as his running mate.
