WATCH: Secret Service faces more scrutiny after 2nd Trump incident

Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe vowing to review the agency’s strategies and procedures following the latest threat on former President Donald Trump is a “very big deal,” the Washington Post’s Carol Leonnig said.

In the past 10 years, “there has been no director of the Secret Service who has suggested there was anything that needed fixing in the protective model or suggested that the Secret Service was more reactive than proactive,” she said.

Leonnig, author of “Zero Fail: The Rise and Fall of the Secret Service,” spoke to PBS News Hour’s Amna Nawaz about the agency and the fallout after the second apparent assassination attempt on Trump’s life in just over two months.
