WATCH: Rep. Joaquin Castro says Trump is ‘most dangerous’ president | Second Trump Impeachment

Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas, spoke during a hearing Jan. 13. Democrats are pursuing a quick second impeachment a week after President Donald Trump gave a speech they say incited insurrection. On Jan. 6, while Congress was in the process of counting electoral votes and certifying President-elect Joe Biden’s win, a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol, clashed with police, and forced lawmakers to pause their sessions and evacuate to safety.

Castro said Trump is the “most dangerous man to ever occupy the oval office” and the Constitution requires Congress to remove and impeach him. The mob was sent by Trump, Castro said, asking members to imagine what would have happened if the mob had actually reached lawmakers.

“If inciting a deadly insurrection is not enough to get a president impeached, then what is?” he asked.
