Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., the lead impeachment manager, spoke about a Capitol Police Officer who spent hours defending the Capitol from the pro-Trump mob that attacked on Jan. 6. “He broke down in the rotunda and he cried for 15 minutes and he shouted out, ’I got called an N-word 15 times today,” Raskin said of the officer, adding that he then cried out to another officer, “Is this America?” “That’s the question before all of you in this trial,” Raskin continued. “Is this America?”
On Feb. 10, House Democrats made their case for why the Senate should convict former President Donald Trump on a charge of inciting insurrection during the attack on the U.S. Capitol. Trump was impeached by the House in January, while he was still in office.
