WATCH: Raskin tells Trump’s team he should testify if they’re dissatisfied with evidence

Was Trump tolerant of the intimidation of former Vice President Mike Pence during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol?

In asking this question during the former president’s second impeachment trial, Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., said Trump’s tweet that Pence “lacked courage” — which occurred close to when Pence was evacuated for his safety– suggested he did not care about Pence being endangered or law enforcement being overwhelmed.

Van der Veen said he did not agree with the facts Cassidy laid out, instead criticizing the House managers for not investigating the timeline of events properly. “I’m sure Mr. Trump very much is concerned and was concerned for the safety and well-being of Mr. Pence.”

Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., pointed out that Trump declined to testify in his trial. “Rather than yelling at us and screaming about how we didn’t have time to get all of the facts about what your client did, bring your client up here and have him testify under oath about why he was sending out tweets denouncing the vice president of the United States while the vice president was being hunted down by a mob that wanted to hang him,” Raskin said.
