WATCH: Nick Schifrin reports amid missile launches on Israel

Israelis moved to bomb shelters after Iran launched a missile attack at Israel, the Israeli military said Tuesday.

Air raid sirens blared across Israel and messages from the Israeli Defense Forces urged people to seek safe shelter and “remain there until further notice.” Shortly after, an Israeli military spokesman said the public can exit the safe shelters.

The missile strikes came days after Israel said it launched a ground operation against the militant group Hezbollah in neighboring Lebanon.
In a statement, Iran’s mission to the United Nations said it was conducting a “legal, rational and legitimate response” to “terrorist acts” by Israel. This all comes after Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was killed last week in an Israeli attack.

The White House said President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are monitoring the missle attacks on Israel from the White House Situation Room and getting updated regularly. “President Biden directed the U.S. military to aid Israel’s defense against Iranian attacks and shoot down missiles that are targeting Israel,” according to a statement.

As the sirens were going off, Nick Schifrin shared what he was experiencing as he reports from Israel.
