Trent Conaway, mayor of East Palestine, Ohio, site of a catastrophic 2023 train derailment that led to an environmental disaster, spoke at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Wednesday.
“I know a thing or two about train wrecks now, and let me tell you, that’s what the Biden administration has been,” Conaway said. “Before President Biden derails our entire nation, we need to act.”
The day was devoted to foreign policy and national security, as well as Sen. J.D. Vance’s formal acceptance of the vice presidential nomination.
Former President Donald Trump named Vance as his running mate Monday. During the convention, delegates will adopt a party platform and Trump will address the convention Thursday.
