Speaking during his weekly briefing to the press on Thursday, Feb. 13, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy criticized Democrats for pushing “lies” about the strength of the economy and other accomplishments under the Trump administration. He also said President Donald Trump did not interfere in the legal case involving his longtime adviser Roger Stone, arguing that Justice Department’s decision to recommend a lighter sentencing came before the president openly criticized the case on social media.
