Chef Jojo Vasquez and his family lost their home and almost all their belongings in the devastating fires that swept through Maui in August. His beloved restaurant, FOND, sits just north of the burn zone and has been closed ever since. He spoke to the PBS NewsHour about the challenges he faced in deciding when and how to reopen the restaurant, the personal toll of the disaster, and his future in the industry.
