Dr. Leana Wen, professor of public health at George Washington University, recommends schools maximize their outdoor time, open windows and doors, update air filters, along with ensuring that all school staff is vaccinated and making regular testing of students and teachers available as best practices coming into this new school year. Wen made her comments during a conversation on Aug. 18 with PBS NewsHour correspondent William Brangham.
