When asked by a reporter Thursday whether he would be open to taking another health exam before the election, President Joe Biden said “I’m tested every single day on my neurological capacity, the decisions I make every day.”
Biden has faced intense scrutiny and calls from some Democrats to step aside from the 2024 presidential race after his recent debate performance raised questions about his cognitive abilities and fitness to lead.
“Every single day I’m surrounded by good docs,” Biden told reporters at a Thursday news conference. “If they think I should have a neurological exam again, I’ll do it, but no one’s suggesting that to me now.”
