President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris viewed the Pass in Review ceremony Jan. 20 outside the U.S. Capitol shortly after they took their oaths of office. In the ceremony, all branches of the military march in unison past the U.S. Capitol as they play music. Usually 5,000 troops participate in the ceremony, but numbers were scaled back because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The new president and vice president then headed to Arlington Cemetery to honor the military by placing a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
