WATCH: Before and after photos capture Ian’s destruction #shorts

New aerial photos of Southwest Florida show leveled communities and roads washed away, as the region continues to grapple with the damage left behind since Hurricane Ian made landfall last Wednesday. The fifth-strongest storm to ever hit the United States as measured by wind speed, Ian’s death toll continues to rise, with 68 deaths in tota as of Monday afternoon, 61 of those in Florida. About 600,000 homes and businesses are still without power and search and rescue missions are still ongoing.

The remnants of Hurricane Ian continue to wreak havoc along the eastern seaboard, forming a nor’easter that is threatening significant flooding along Virginia’s eastern shore.
