Selkirk Lighthouse, Pulaski, NY
Its “birdcage” lantern is unique in structure and appearance among all the Seaway Trail lights
Light was decommissioned in 1859, but kept lit until 1890.
It was built in anticipation that Port Ontario would become a major port and harbor
The advent of the railway and the Erie Canal averted the development
Light was officially re-lit in 1989
Privately owned, but it is one of the few lights open for overnight guests.
