American Experience presents a virtual PAST FORWARD conversation around the history of space exploration, and what the future of space travel and tourism might look like. This event is inspired by our streaming documentary films Chasing the Moon and Space Men.
The conversation examines what drives us to explore space, the scientific innovation we’ve harnessed to get there, how we continue to push these physical limits in our quest for Mars, and who gets to participate in space exploration.
Featured guests include:
Roger Launius – former NASA chief historian and Principal of Launius Historical Services
Anna Voelker – Project Lead for Mission: AstroAccess, Executive Director of the SciAccess Initiative, and Executive Director of the Aspen Science Center
Loretta Hidalgo Whitesides – Co-Creator of Yuri’s Night and Lead Trainer at SpaceKind
The discussion is moderated by Jermaine Fowler, creator and host of The Humanity Archive.
