WATERTOWN, NY (April 1, 2025) – Queens of Mystery, the Emmy-nominated series from acclaimed writer Julian Unthank (Doc Martin, New Tricks), is a wickedly offbeat contemporary murder mystery that will keep audiences at the edge of their seats. The series follows young Detective Sergeant Matilda Stone and her three mystery-writing aunts, who believe their extensive knowledge of crime fiction makes them the perfect partners in solving murders in the quirky town of Wildermarsh.
With bold visuals, fast-paced dialogue, quirky characters, and darkly comic cases, Queens of Mystery brings a unique twist to the classic whodunit. In this Amelie-esque style show, each episode blends thrilling mystery with heart, humor, and unexpected twists. The star-studded core cast includes Julie Graham (Shetland, The Bletchley Circle), Sarah Woodward (The Pale Horse), Siobhan Redmond (Unforgotten), and Florence Hall (The Princess Switch).
“In series one, as a young Detective Sergeant, Matilda felt she had a lot to prove and found it hard to balance her work and personal life. In series two, she’s a little more secure in her role, leaving more room for spontaneity and laughter, though her search for answers about her mother’s disappearance continues to pull her toward a darker, unsettling path.” – Florence Hall, Matilda
