The COVID-19 Pandemic has temporarily changed traditional methods of reporting for student journalists and the impact of this pandemic will be a key issue at the polls this November. But, teenagers across the country are keeping journalism in their communities alive in new and innovative ways.
Join PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs as we discuss how student journalists can cover Election 2020 through virtual spaces, conducting remote interviews, and report local and national topics most important to them during this election season.
SRL will also be sharing a new resource for students and educators to produce election stories and report on the issues that matter to Gen Z. SRL’s #Election2020 Journalism Toolkit features how to’s, lessons, and student challenges, giving young storytellers turnkey assignments for covering local politics and national elections.
