WPBS-DT and WWNY 7NEWS and WNYF FOX 28, Watertown, N.Y. have joined forces to produce, “Public Eye with Jeff Cole,” a local 30-minute program that will focus on North Country issues in a roundtable format. “Public Eye” will highlight local concerns with local guests.
Jeff Cole will host Public Eye. Jeff is the morning and noon anchor on the Watertown CBS and FOX affiliates. His news programs regularly feature live interviews. “Sometimes I end an interview and I wish we had more time. Public Eye will provide a half-hour format that allows us to learn more, explain more and provide more information to the public.”
“We couldn’t be happier about this opportunity to team up with WWNY and Jeff Cole. This is the type of public affairs programming that WPBS strives to bring to our viewers,” stated Tom Hanley, President and General Manager of WPBS-DT.

Three Republican Assembly candidates debate jobs, SAFE Act
The three Republican 116th Assembly District candidates clashed mainly over jobs and their stances on the states SAFE Act during a public forum taped for showing Friday night on PBS.
Former Hammond Town Justice William J. Sheridan, Lisbon resident Russell J. Finley and former Cape Vincent Councilman John L. Byrne III are vying against each other in Tuesdays primary. The winner will face Democratic incumbent Addie J. Russell, whos running for a fourth term.
