Watertown, NY- PBS Kids Go! and WPBS encourage the children of the North Country community to participate in the PBS Kids Go! Writers Contest. The contest is open to children in grades K-3 from January 24–March 29.
The PBS Kids Go! Writers Contest is a national competition which promotes the advancement of children’s reading, writing and illustration skills through active learning and application. The Writer’s Contest promotes the imagination and artistic talents of young children by asking them to create original stories with original illustrations. Stories are judged by an expert panel of judges on originality, creative expression, storytelling and integration of text and illustration.
WPBS-DT is the region’s largest classroom. From pre-school through college and beyond, public television plays a role in formal education. Without question, WPBS-DT is a key part of the solution to providing all ages with educational opportunities. WPBS-DT airs over 40 hours of children’s educational programs every week. The Raising Readers program helps parents and teachers prepare our youngsters to succeed in school. WPBS-DT goes beyond the broadcast each year through media engagement by offering movie events; Character Breakfast; Ready, Set, Fun Bookfest; PBS Kids Go!
