Palestinian president pleas for end to ‘genocide’

The “entire world is responsible” for Israel’s bombardment of Gaza, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said Thursday at the United Nations General Assembly.

“Stop the genocide. Stop sending weapons to Israel. The madness cannot continue,” he pleaded.

Abbas advocated for his government to govern a post-war Gaza as part of an independent Palestinian state and accused Israel of destroying Gaza.
“We will not leave, Palestine is our homeland,” he said. “If anyone were to leave it would be the occupying usurpers.”

According to the latest figures released by the Gaza Health Ministry, more than 41,500 Palestinians have been killed as a result of Israel’s campaign in Gaza and more than 96,000 others have been wounded. Israel has defended its military operations as justified and necessary to defend itself.
