Scientists in Utah are discovering how spider silk can be useful outside of web-making. Student reporters at Judge Memorial Catholic High School documented the efforts of Danielle Gaztambide and the rest of her team at Utah State to harness the biocompatible properties of spider silk. They are giving that silk-making gene to other organisms like E.Coli, alfalfa, ailkworms, and even goats.
