Michael Brown Sr. says grief of losing his son 10 years later is a ‘life sentence’

Just months after Michael Brown Jr. was shot and killed by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, Michael Brown Sr. and Cal Brown launched Chosen for Change, an organization that provides resources, support and activities for people who have lost children. Brown told PBS News that while he’s able to manage his grief through working with the community, the pain of losing a child never goes away.
