Beyond the Competition – Showcasing Former Winners of The Orchestra of Northern New York’s Young Artist Competition.
Junior High and High School students from Northern and Central New York are invited to participate in the 15th Annual Young Artist Competition on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Participants will receive feedback from a panel of professional musicians that includes ONNY’s music director.
Cash prizes will be awarded and the winner will have the opportunity to solo with ONNY at a future concert.

LILLIA WOOLSCHLAGER earned a dual Bachelor’s degree in Oboe Performance and Musical Studies from The Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY. Subsequently, she moved to Chicago to pursue a Master’s Degree in oboe performance. There, she studied at DePaul University with renowned oboist Alex Klein, while accompanying her peers in recitals and other performances. Today, she is a freelance oboist and pianist playing with various groups including the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Northbrook Symphony, Lakeview Symphony, 5th Wave Collective, and Wisconsin Philharmonic. Ms. Woolschlager is also an instructor of piano, voice, and oboe at various schools including Musical Chairs Studio and Music House. In her free time, Lillia likes to paint sunset scenes, go for a run, or practice latte art.
