Lighting director Charlie Ide retires after 43 years at the NewsHour and WETA

Lighting director Charlie Ide is retiring after a remarkable 43-year career at the NewsHour and WETA. Charlie began here in 1980, working with everyone from Cokie Roberts to Jim Lehrer, Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff. Over the years he’s worked on countless WETA shows from breaking news to election nights and of course, Washington Week and the NewsHour.
