Poet Kevin Young reads Ross Gay’s poem “A Small Needful Fact,” a poem that shifts focus from the details around the police violence that killed Eric Garner in 2014 to how the 43-year-old lived.
“A Small Needful Fact” appears in a new Library of America anthology of Black poetry, edited by Young, called “African American Poetry: 250 Years of Struggle and Song.”
