Playwright Jeremy O. Harris, like many across the globe, sheltered in place during the early days of COVID-19 spring.
The experience of quarantining for weeks on end enabled Harris, who was based in London, to form a close bond with his neighbors, who were also confined to their home. On his birthday, they gave him a 19th-century antique mirror from China.
“It reminds me that sometimes you don’t have to run halfway across the world to meet a new friend,” Harris said. “And that’s something that I had forgotten in my adulthood.”
