Amara and Leela, Vice President Kamala Harris’ grandnieces, took the main stage Thursday at the Democratic National Convention for a lesson on how to pronounce their auntie’s name. They were introduced and accompanied on stage by actress Kerry Washington.
“First you say comma, like comma in a sentence,” Amara said.
“Then you say, ‘La,’ like lalalala,” Leela finished.
With Washington, they led the arena through some chants to practice.
This video was produced by Casey Kuhn and Erica Hendry.
