Kids are back in school, and North Country farmers are at the peak of the harvest season. But until a few years ago, there wasn’t much of an effort to get locally grown fruits and vegetables onto school lunch trays. The Farm to School program in St. Lawrence County set out to change that, and they did in a big way. But as we learned from a dedicated group of program contributors, it wasn’t easy.
