Edith Wharton in France | The Great War

In the spring of 1915, American novelist Edith Wharton embarked on a tour of the Western Front. She had come on her own initiative to deliver medical supplies, take photographs and write letters and articles for publication back home about what she called the “dreadful realities of war.”
The Great War premieres on April 10 on PBS.
