On April 28th, AMP Entertainment held the first ever ‘Rock the Books’ concert at the Watertown Exhibition Hall to benefit WPBS-DT’s Ready Set Fun Bookfest, scheduled for May 12th at the Watertown High School Gymnasium. The concert featured local rock bands including – Chaotic Embrace, Tyrade, Armed with Valor, Waydown Wailers, Cherokee Chief and more. The concert had over 200 attendees – dedicated to rock music and giving back to their community. Over $2,200 was raised and given to WPBS to support the purchase of books for Ready Set Fun. The Jefferson County Agricultural Society assisted at the concert to help make the event successful.

The Ready Set Fun Bookfest is a free event held each year to support literacy in our community by providing each child in attendance a new book – in addition children have the chance to participate in the Great Used Book Swap by bringing an old book to the event, interact with other non-profits in the area, meet Curious George and Clifford the BIG Red Dog and Scholastic offers a 2 for 1 book sale. Over 1,000 books are given away each year. Visit wpbstv.org for more information.

‘This is our 16th Annual Ready Set Fun Bookfest – our dedication to the literacy of our local youth is as strong as ever. Without AMP Entertainment’s help, WPBS would not be able to provide area children with print media in their homes’ – Lynn Brown, Executive Vice President, WPBS-DT.

AMP Entertainment is a locally owned event promotions company – dedicated to providing afforadable entertainment to this area and giving back to the local youth in the community. In the last year, AMP has given back $25,000 to local youth from event proceeds. Visit ampentertainment.net for more information.
