In 2014, 18-year-old Michael Brown Jr. was shot and killed by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. Like George Floyd, his death led to weeks of protests and some violent clashes with law enforcement, and gave birth to the Black Lives Matter movement. Earlier this month, Yamiche Alcindor spoke with Brown’s father, Michael Brown Sr., about what has changed since his son and Floyd’s death.
