WPBS-DT Announces Raising Readers Summer Library Tour

WPBS-DT, Watertown, NY, is pleased to announce the schedule for the WPBS Raising Readers 2011 Summer Library Tour with Curious George. We are visiting libraries in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties during the week of July 25-29, 2011. In addition, WPBS-DT and Curious George will appear at Salmon Run Mall’s Wednesday’s Are For Kids on Wednesday, July 27 at 11 am.

This year, WPBS-DT is happy to have Curious George join us for our annual WPBS KIDS Raising Readers 2011 Summer Library Tour. Curious George will appear at each location throughout the week. Not only will the children visit with Curious George, they will listen to a Curious George story and complete fun, interactive activities. A FREE book will be distributed to each family that attends.

Monday July 25th

2pm – Massena Public Library

Tuesday July 26th
2pm – Lowville Free Library

Wednesday July 27th
11 am-Salmon Run Mall-Wednesday’s Are For Kids
2pm – Gouverneur Library

Thursday July 28th
11am – Robert C. McEwen Library, Fort Drum
2:30pm – Potsdam Public Library

Friday July 29th
10am – Carthage Free Library
1:30pm – Flower Memorial Library, Watertown

Every summer, WPBS-DT partners with libraries located within our broadcast community to host a number of workshops, story readings, visits from various PBS KIDS characters and distribute resources such as free books with suggested activities to keep young readers engaged throughout the summer.
