WATCH: New Capitol attack footage shows police fighting violent insurrection

Warning: This video contains graphic images of violence.
During House Democrats presentation Feb. 10 in former President Donald Trump’s second impeachment trial, Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., used audio and video from the Jan. 6 insurrection to detail the experiences of law enforcement officers who defended the Capitol and lawmakers against rioters. He showed footage that captured insurrectionists violently assaulting officers in what Swalwell characterized as a “constant” attack on police.
Swalwell played one clip in which an officer described what he saw: “It looked like a medieval battle scene. It was some of the most brutal combat I’ve ever encountered,” the officer said. “At one point, I got tazed. People were yelling out, ‘We got one, we got one.’”
