On a day when a pro-Trump mob stormed the U.S. Capitol building, Rep. Ron Estes, R-Kansas, said he had expected there would to be protests, but not for them to turn violent.
When asked if he thought President Donald Trump, who encouraged his supporters to protest the Electoral College count, was partially responsible for the violence, Estes said, “I think you have to look at and hold accountable those individuals that committed these acts of violence. It’s not appropriate at all for them to do that.”
Estes did not directly say if he would still object to the vote count. There has been no evidence of widespread election fraud, and every legal challenge made by the Tump campaign has been rejected.
