Beyond the Competition – Showcasing Former Winners of The Orchestra of Northern New York’s Young Artist Competition.
Junior High and High School students from Northern and Central New York are invited to participate in the 15th Annual Young Artist Competition on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Participants will receive feedback from a panel of professional musicians that includes ONNY’s music director.
Cash prizes will be awarded and the winner will have the opportunity to solo with ONNY at a future concert.

CAROLE WILAY, 17, is a current senior at Carthage High School and won the ONNY Young Artist Competition on violin her sophomore year. She is the Concertmaster of the Trillium Orchestra in Watertown, plays in the Trillium Trio, and is taught by Agnes McCarthy and John Lindsey. She also played in the 2019 NYSSMA All-State Symphony Orchestra her junior year and will play in the 2020 NYSSMA Virtual All-State String Orchestra during her senior year. She plans to pursue music through college while majoring in environmental engineering.
