On March 11, the World Health Organization declared the novel coronavirus a global pandemic. There are now a few vaccines that are already in Phase I and II of human trials. But can a vaccine for the coronavirus be found in a year and a half?
Dr. Paul Offit was part of a team that created the rotavirus vaccine– a process that took 26 years in total. He urges caution and adequate testing for the vaccine because “anything that can help you, can potentially harm you.”
